Preparing to Speak

What are the Strategy World 2024 content deadlines?

The deadline for customers to submit their proposals is Friday, February 2, 2024, at 11:59 PST. Decisions will be sent early to mid-February.

Selected speakers must register for the event and finalize their session title and abstract content by Friday, February 23, 2024. This will allow our team to add your session details to the online agenda as soon as possible (Note: session times and tracks are subject to change).

Presentation outlines must be emailed to WorldSpeakers@microstrategy.com by Friday, March 15, 2024. You may submit your outline in either Word or PowerPoint format.

All final presentations and any supplementary materials like demo videos must be submitted to and accepted by your assigned Strategy collaborator no later than Friday, April 5, 2024.

What is my breakout session like?

Each Strategy World session will start at the top of the hour and last no longer than 45 minutes. Most sessions will be traditional presentations, but we’re also accepting ideas for panel discussions and fireside chats.

For slide-based presentations and demo sessions, we recommend that speakers spend the first 25 minutes presenting content and reserve the remaining 20 minutes for audience questions.

For panel discussions and fireside chats, the session facilitator will work with speakers to either plan content that spans the entire 45 minutes or accommodate some time for audience questions after planned content, according to team preferences.

A member of our team will work with you to finalize the format that best fits your session and the overall agenda.

How much time needs to be allocated for Q&A?

For slide-based presentations and demo sessions, we recommend that customers spend the first 25 minutes presenting content and reserve the remaining 20 minutes for audience questions. We’ve found that this is the ideal split of time to keep the audience engaged throughout sessions.

What topics should I cover in my session?

Share your innovative use cases, creative problem solving, and trailblazing AI integration stories. We want to know how you used Strategy to transform your organization and the industry you’re in.
Below are track themes for this year’s sessions (subject to change):

  • AI Innovation: Uncovering the power of AI to accelerate data analytics.
  • Art of the Possible: Real-world business use cases and transformative customer stories.
  • Analytics Toolbox: Build powerful apps, manage trusted data, and keep up with the data landscape.
  • Embedded Experiences: How to integrate user-centric apps into your organization with little to no code.
  • Governance & Security: Protecting your business’ data and scaling confidently.
  • Cloud Strategy: Adopting cloud-native capabilities and scaling for the future.

Will Strategy work with me to finalize my presentation?

Yes, your Strategy account team can help you prepare, refine, and finalize your presentation. Content collaboration should begin as soon as your session is accepted, and details are finalized for agenda publication.
If you have questions that your account team members cannot answer, they can contact the Marketing lead assigned to your track for further assistance, or you can email WorldSpeakers@microstrategy.com.

What format should I use to prepare my presentation?

PowerPoint or Google Slides are recommended for all track sessions. Customer speakers should utilize their organization's corporate slide template to prepare their presentations. If an issue arises with templates, please email WorldSpeakers@microstrategy.com.

Can I include live demos in my presentation?

We do not recommend live demos. Instead, we encourage you to pre-record and embed demos directly into your presentation slides. We find that speaking over a pre-recorded, embedded demo provides the most consistent and well-paced experience for both session presenters and audience members.

What will be in the room for my session?

Most session rooms will have theater-style seating. Each room will have the following:

  • 1 Large screen
  • Projector
  • Sound system (including a wireless clip-on microphone)
  • Riser with podium
  • 1 hard line to connect to the internet for the presenter
  • HDMI cable to connect to the projector
  • Remote presentation clicker with a laser pointer

What is the screen size and resolution for my presentation?

For your presentation, please use 16:9 aspect ratio and 1920 x 1080 resolution. PowerPoint or Google Slides are both acceptable. Presentations are projected onto a screen from a laptop within the room.

What do I need to bring to my session?

There will be a complete A/V set up in each track session room, and your presentation will be pre-downloaded. We recommend that you arrive 15 minutes early to your session to set up, check your content, and test your sound.

Though not required, as a backup, we recommend that you bring your laptop with the presentation saved locally, a US-compatible charger, and an HDMI converter to your session.

Will the sessions be recorded, streamed, or photographed?

Yes, the session’s audio and some video clips will be recorded. Track sessions will not be livestreamed.
There will also be a photographer on-site capturing the event. If you’d specifically like photos captured while you present, please notify WorldSpeakers@microstrategy.com in advance.
In addition to the session, we strongly encourage customer speakers to participate in on-site recorded interviews with our team to further amplify their stories.

Will my presentation be shared with attendees after my session?

Yes, PDF versions of session presentations will be uploaded to the Strategy World 2024 app after each session. If you would not like to share your presentation, please notify us in advance.

Is there a dress code for customer speakers?

While there is no set dress code for speakers, we recommend that you dress however you are most comfortable presenting your story in a professional setting. Strategy speakers will be dressed in business casual attire.
