When users are trying to execute some reports in Strategy, they may receive message that “QueryEngine encountered error: Execute Query failed” and “You are not licensed to use this ODBC driver with the DataDirect ODBC Driver Manager under the license you have purchased” information as shown below:
Additionally, in the DSSErrors log users can find exactly the same error:

When using a DataDirect driver occasionally a line beginning with QEWSD will appear inside of ODBC.ini and cause any program using that connection to fail. The reason behind appearing this line is one of the following:
Line that starts with ‘QEWSD’ under [ODBC] section in odbc.ini file should be removed. The good practice is to change odbc.ini file to read-only mode to ensure that it is no longer re-written.
