KB484662: "The following privilege is required to access the resource you requested: administrator" error occurs when using Kerberos authentication in MicroStrategy Web

Description

Users with administrative privileges encounter the following error message when modifying Strategy Web preferences on the project defaults level.
The following privilege is required to access the resource you requested: administrator
 

The error is only encountered when the following two conditions are met:

1. User authenticated to project using Kerberos Integrated Authentication.
2. User has non-English US browser language settings.

The Web preference modification is still applied despite the error. This can be confirmed after dismissing the error message or refreshing the page.
 

Why is this happening?

This is a known issue with Strategy Web 2020. This issue has no impact on the correct functioning of Strategy Web as Web preferences are applied despite the error.
