KB441117: "error while loading shared libraries: libcom_err.so.3: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory" is thrown when trying to run Tools in MicroStrategy Secure Enterprise 10.11

Symptom:

When attempting to run tools from <MSTR_HOME_PATH>/bin the following error may be encountered after a fresh installation of Strategy Secure Enterprise 10.11:
 

error while loading shared libraries: libcom_err.so.3: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Additionally, it is seen that neither the library nor symbolic links exist in the <MSTR_INSTALL_PATH>/lib folder. 
 

Cause:

The issue is caused due to a known issue with the Strategy 10.11 installer. If Strategy Intelligence Server is not selected as a product to be installed, the libcom_err.so library is not included even though it is a required dependency for other Strategy applications.

Workaround:

As a workaround, users can either choose to install Strategy Intelligence Server on the effected machine or copy the library from the <MSTR_INSTALL_PATH>/lib folder of a machine on the same Strategy version which had the Intelligence Server installed. Only libcom_erro.so.3.0 needs to be copied, a symbolic link should be created within the <MSTR_INSTALL_PATH>/lib folder(eg; ln -s libcom_err.so.3.0 libcom_err.so).
