KB484779: The loading spinner is stuck when accepting a shared bookmark in the Notifications panel in MicroStrategy Library 2021

Wei (Irene) Jiang

Product Owner, Principal • MicroStrategy

This article addresses the issue where the loading spinner is stuck when accepting a shared bookmark in the Notifications panel of Library. This article also provides a workaround to avoid this behavior.

Description

In Strategy Library 2021, you may notice that the loading spinner does not go away when accepting a shared bookmark in the Notifications panel, under all of the following conditions:

  1. The user has multiple projects
  2. The user has the "Collaboration Service" privilege to a subset of the projects only
  3. The user has the "Client Reporter" privilege to the projects that do not have the "Collaboration Service" privilege.

The following issues occur:

  1. When clicking the Accept button in the share bookmark notification, the loading spinner does not go away, even though the bookmark is already added. The Accept button does not disappear after reopening the Notifications panel.
  2. After creating a group discussion, the user can only send and receive messages and delete the discussion, Other discussion manipulations or updates cannot be performed, like adding or removing users, renaming, and muting notifications.

Workaround

Prove the "Collaboration Service" privilege to all the projects which have the "Client Reporter" privilege in the server.
