KB484374: Subtotal, threshold, sort, and attribute forms defined on the unselected attribute or metric selector is lost after saving the dossier

Zuzanna Grzyniewska

Manager, Business Intelligence • MicroStrategy

This article addresses the issue where changes defined on an attribute or metric selector are lost after saving. This article also provides a solution to avoid this behavior.

Starting with the release of Strategy ONE (March 2024), dossiers are also known as dashboards.

Description

When making changes to multiple attribute or metric selectors, such as defining subtotals or thresholds, the changes to any selectors that are unselected at the time of saving will be lost.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Create a dossier with a grid and attribute selectors.
  2. Make changes on several selectors (e.g., total or threshold options).
  3. Save the dossier and close it.
  4. After opening the dossier, only the changes made to the selector that was selected at the time of saving are saved.

Examples

Defining totals for selectors Income Bracket & Region.

Saving the dossier with Region selected.

Upon re-opening the dossier, the changes made to Income Bracket are lost:

Whereas changes made to Region are saved:
