KB441513: Time functions such as CurrentDate(), CurrentTime(), and CurrentDateTime() which are passed as functions to the database, may produce different data in Integrity manager test though the SQL is unchanged.

This knowledge base article describes a scenario where integrity manager test may report data failure between the base and target reports, if the report contains any time functions such as CurrentDate(), CurrentTime(), and CurrentDateTime() which are passed as functions to the database.

Starting with the release of Strategy ONE (March 2024), dossiers are also known as dashboards.
SYMPTOM:
When performing Integrity manager test and validation for certain reports containing time functions such as CurrentDate(), CurrentTime(), and CurrentDateTime() which are passed as functions to the database, the Integrity manager test may report data failure between the base and target reports even though the SQL is unchanged.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
1. Create a metric using any of these time functions CurrentDate(), CurrentTime(), or CurrentDateTime().
2. Create a report using the metric from step 1 and run the report on a given day (for example, 08/13/2018). The report will produce 1 row of data for 08/13/2018.
3. Run the same report the next day (you can change the i-server date to the next day to simulate the test and restart the server), the same report will produce 1 row of data but for a different date 08/14/2018.
CAUSE:
This is an expected behavior. CurrentDate(), CurrentTime(), and CurrentDateTime() which are passed as time functions to the database will not change the SQL of the report but may change the data depending on the date of the database server on which the report is run against.
ACTION:
In Strategy 11.0, Integrity manager will report data failure between base and target reports for report/document/dossier with these kind of functions during integrity manager test and validation.
Strategy reference numbers for this technical note are KB441513 and DE100167.
