KB46183: "Column LOCALTIMESTAMP not found" error message is returned when using the CurrentDateTime() function in an attribute or metric with a Teradata warehouse in MicroStrategy 9.4.1 Developer.

Stefan Zepeda

"Column LOCALTIMESTAMP not found" error message is returned when using the CurrentDateTime() function in an attribute or metric with a Teradata warehouse in MicroStrategy 9.4.1 Developer.

SYMPTOM:

After upgrading to Strategy Analytics Enterprise 9.4.1, reports may not run correctly if they are using the Strategy function CurrentDateTime() and a Teradata database. When trying to execute the report, the following error message may be returned:

ka02R000000kcTfQAI_0EM440000002CSb.png

QueryEngine encountered error: Execute Query failed. Error type: Odbc error. Odbc operation attempted: SQLExecDirect. Column LOCALTIMESTAMP not found in XXXX...

Also, in the SQL of the report where the CurrentDateTime function is resolved, the SQL should show the statement:

select LOCALTIMESTAMP

The SQL statement in pre-9.2.1 shows the SQL statement:

select CURRENT_TIMESTAMP

CAUSE:

This is a known issue in Strategy Developer 9.4.1.

ACTION:

This issue has been fixed in Strategy 10.x. Upgrade to it to take advantage of the issue correction.

WORKAROUND:

Use an ApplySimple passthrough function to use the correct syntax. In the attribute or metric editor, use the following syntax:

ApplySimple("CURRENT_TIMESTAMP",0)
