Starting with the release of Strategy ONE (March 2024), dossiers are also known as dashboards.
Metric qualifications set with Output Level = Dataset level in the Advanced Filter editor of a visualization does not work correctly in a dossier created from a MDX cube when run by a user with a security filter on it. It also disables other filters set in the Advanced Filter editor.Cause
- Metric qualification set with Output Level = Dataset level in the Advanced Filter editor of a visualization is not calculated correctly
- Security filter may contain an attribute that is not in the MDX cube
- This forces the Engine to treat the metric qualification as an attribute qualification.
- For the case of a MDX cube, subsequent Engine logic does not handle this.
Solution
- Upgrade to Strategy 11.0 or above. We recommend the latest version.
- Set Data Engine Version setting to 11.
- The project level setting Data Engine Version can only be enabled through Workstation. For more details on enabling the setting, see Change Data Engine Version.
In the new fix, we change Engine code to disregard security filters with attributes unrelated to the MDX cube in question so that Engine can calculate the metric qualification set at Dataset level for MDX cubes correctly. Other filters in the Advanced Filter editor will not be blocked and work properly as well.
