Starting with the release of Strategy ONE (March 2024), dossiers are also known as dashboards.
Symptom
Executing a data blended dossier may intermittently encounter query execution failure with the error message “In-memory query execution failed against the Intelligent Cube due to duplicate rows found in one of the fact tables” returned to a visualization which contains complicated Compound Metrics. When the issue happens, query details of the issue visualization will include metric calculation passes where the metrics with fact expression not having Aggregation function and the metrics with fact expression having Aggregation function are calculated together as the following sample query piece indicates.

Why is this happening?
This is a known issue in all Strategy releases before Strategy 2021 Update 4 for all available Data Engine versions. This issue may happen when there are complicated compound metrics used in the visualization and at least one of metric components in the compound metric involves fact expression not having Aggregation function.
Solution
To fix the intermittent query execution error, upgrade to Strategy 2021 Update 4 and set the Data Engine Version to be 2020 or above. To set Data Engine Version, refer to How to set Date Engine Version.
After the fix, there will be no more intermittent query execution error to visualizations in data blended dossiers and correct data will always be returned successfully. Query details of a visualization will not have metric calculation passes where the metrics with fact expression not having Aggregation function and the metrics with fact expression having Aggregation function are calculated together.
