KB486936: How to set a Dashboard as the Default Start page in MicroStrategy Web

Heather Brewster

Senior Manager, Technical Support • MicroStrategy

This article describes how to set a Dashboard as the Default Start page in MicroStrategy Web.

Introduction

Strategy Web preferences can be modified to set a Report or Report Service Document as the Default Start page as can be found in this article . However, the steps to accomplish this for a Dashboard are not as straightforward.

Steps

  • Execute the Dashboard that needs to be set up as the Default Start Page.
  • If one closes that Dashboard and navigates to the Web Preferences, the option to set the last executed Dashboard as the default start page is not available.
  • To be able to access the Web Preferences from the Dashboard itself (without closing it), click on the down arrow button right next to the close button (see image below):

  • From here, click on the username on the top right corner and click on Preferences.

  • Navigate to Project Defaults and access the Default start page settings. The option to set the last executed Dashboard is now available to be selected.
