KB441586: Is it possible to repoint an existing report from one MTDI cube to another MTDI cube in MicroStrategy 10.x

• Strategy

This knowledge base article discusses about the 'point grid to intelligent cube' feature enhancement in MicroStrategy 10.x.

In Strategy, you can modify the Intelligent Cube a report accesses for its data requirements. This allows you to switch to an Intelligent Cube that fits your reporting requirements without having to create a new report.
However, the Intelligent Cube you switch to for the report should have the same or at least similar data as was previously available in the report. If the report contained some objects that are not in the Intelligent Cube you switch to, this can cause the objects to be unavailable for the report or have other unintended functionality. A warning message is displayed for any mismatch in data between the report and the Intelligent Cube you want to link the report to.
In Strategy 10.6 and below, this feature was only available when re-pointing an existing report from one OLAP cube to another OLAP cube or re-pointing the report from one MTDI cube to another OLAP cube. It is not possible to repoint an existing report from one MTDI cube to another MTDI cube.
Starting in 10.7, it's now possible to repoint an existing report from one MTDI cube to another MTDI cube. See this knowledge base article: KB320531: How to repoint an existing report to another cube.
