Error ’Object variable or With block variable not set’ occurs when sorting a report in a Report Services document in MicroStrategy Developer 9.4.x-10.x

SYMPTOM:
When a user sorts a report in a Report Service document in Strategy Developer 9.4.x-10.x, the following error occurs:

ka04W000001IquBQAS_0EM440000002Fdx.jpeg

Object variable or With block variable not set

CAUSE:
This error occurs due to an object prompt in the grid of the report. Since an object prompt is not answered in design mode, the sort function cannot find what object to sort.
ACTION:
Remove the object prompt from the gird to avoid this error.
Currently, object prompts are ignored in Report Service documents in Strategy Developer 9.4.x-10.x. It is not necessary to keep object prompts in Report Service documents. Refer to the following Strategy Knowledge Base document for details on a known issue with object prompts in Report Services documents:
KB43438: Objects on a grid report which are selected using an object prompt are re-arranged when the report is re-prompted in MicroStrategy Web 9.3.x - 9.4.x
