This knowledge base article explains why when trying to proceed through the Narrowcast Portal Configuration Wizard, it fails with error ‘An error has occurred on this page’ (Error code: C00452D6) after choosing the database connection for the Portal Repository.

SYMPTOM:
While trying to configure the Strategy Subscription Portal 9.4.x-10.x by using the Narrowcast Portal Administrator, the following error message is received after selecting a database connection to be used for the storage of the Portal Repository as shown below:

ka04W00000148O4QAI_0EM440000002BEs.jpeg

An error has occurred on the page. (Error code: C00452D6)

Upon further investigation, the following error is found in the logs that corresponds with the above error message:

[Wed May 03 15:01:52 PDT 2008] [C00452D6] [SEVERE] [] Failed to open a connection to DSN 'BBGBBBGDBBGQBBHHBBHOBBIEBBHKBBHFBBIEBBEBBEGBBEE'. java.sql.SQLException [Strategy] [Transactor DB Driver] Undefined data Source: BBGBBBGDBBGQBBHHBBHOBBIEBBHKBBHFBBIEBBEBBEGBBEE

CAUSE:
The error code C00452D6 represents the fact that there was a problem with getting the information for the Sequelink Data source known by a dbalias as displayed in the above error message as:

BBGBBBGDBBGQBBHHBBHOBBIEBBHKBBHFBBIEBBEBBEGBBEE
The dbdriver.properties file (Program Files\Common FIles\MicroStrategy\Config) on the Subscription Portal machine is where these dbalias to Sequelink data source translations are stored. However for this encoded DSN name that appears in the dbdriver.properties file does not match any current DSNs existing for a connection to Sequelink.

ACTION:
Ensure that the correct Sequelink data source exists. Refer to the following Technical Note for instructions on how to recreate the Sequelink data source to be used:

KB32624: How to configure MicroStrategy Intelligence Server Universal running on UNIX/Linux operating systems to connect to Microsoft Access and Excel data sources using Sequelink
