KB211968: "The Connect Series for ODBC PostgreSQL Wire Protocol driver is only licensed to connect to PostgreSQL databases" error message is encountered when attempting to establish a connection to Amazon Redshift

SUMMARY
This document describes an issue that occurs when trying to establish a connection to an Amazon Redshift database when the Intelligence Server is on Linux in Strategy 9.4.1.
 
SYMPTOM
While attempting to establish a database connection to Amazon Redshift from a Linux Intelligence Server machine in Strategy 9.4.1 the following error is seen.
 

Connect failed.
Error type: Odbc error. Odbc operation attempted: SQLDriverConnect. [S1000:1209: on HDBC] [Strategy][ODBC PostgreSQL Wire Protocol driver]The Connect Series for ODBC PostgreSQL Wire Protocol driver is only licensed to connect to PostgreSQL databases.  You are attempting to connect to the following type of server: PostgreSQL 8.0.2 on i686

 
The error occurs despite the fact that the supported driver (Strategy ODBC Driver for PostgreSQL Wire Protocol) is used to connect to Amazon Redshift.
 
CAUSE
This is a known issue in Strategy 9.4.1.
 
ACTION
Strategy ODBC Driver for Amazon Redshift Wire Protocol should be used to establish connection to Amazon Redshift. This new driver from Strategy is now available to connect to Amazon Redshift. Refer to the following Strategy Knowledge Base document for additional information: 
KB219126: New MicroStrategy ODBC Driver for Amazon Redshift Wire Protocol to connect to Amazon Redshift for MicroStrategy Analytics Enterprise 9.4.1 and MicroStrategy Secure Enterprise Platform 10 running on the Linux and Windows operating systems
No action is necessary in Strategy 10.0 and later versions as the driver is already included.
