This KB addresses an issue when creating tables through MicroStrategy Configuration Wizard.

SYMPTOM:
DSSCSSYSPROP is a table which stores system properties used by content services such as version of History List, and this table is created thorugh Configuration Wizard:

The version set in the SQL differs based on a selection in above screen. Here are examples for an Oracle database using Configuration Wizard 9.4.1:

  1.  [Metadata and History List] or [Metadata] are selected
    • INSERT INTO DSSCSSYSPROP (PROP_NAME, PROP_VAL) VALUES ('VERSION', '8.1');
  2.  [History List] is selected
    • INSERT INTO DSSCSSYSPROP (PROP_NAME, PROP_VAL) VALUES ('VERSION', '0');
    • UPDATE DSSCSSYSPROP SET PROP_VAL='9.3' WHERE PROP_NAME='VERSION';

The pattern 1 is not the appropriate for 9.x or 10.x users, and it might cause a issue described in the following KB for later upgrades:
KB37022: "Upgrade is not supported for the selected database and version..." error message appears when trying to Upgrade History List tables in MicroStrategy 9.x

CAUSE:
This is a known issue with Strategy Configuration Wizard 9.x and newer.

ACTION:
Currently this issue is being reviewed by Strategy for a potential code fix on an upcoming Strategy release.
The Strategy Internal Reference Number for the issue discussed in this KB is: DE4937.
