KB253433: Will my ESRI Maps Key continue to work if I upgrade to the MicroStrategy 10.x Secure Enterprise Platform from MicroStrategy Analytics Enterprise?

This article details the use of the of the esri key from upgraded version of MicroStrategy Web and if it is still a valid key.

QUESTION
Starting in Strategy Analytics Enterprise 9.4.1, ESRI maps are integrated out of the box in Strategy Web products. Steps to configure ESRI maps can be found in KB45064: How to activate cloud-based ESRI maps for MicroStrategy Web products. With the release of Strategy 10, ESRI maps have been extended to support additional features, such as base map styles, a searchbar in the toolbar, and the ability to show data for selected markers or regions, while still supporting both cloud-based maps and on-premise maps. Because an ESRI Maps Key was required to use cloud-based maps in Strategy Analytics Enterprise, and cloud-based maps could only be used in Flash VI or documents executed in Flash mode, users may ask whether the same ESRI Maps Key that worked in Strategy Analytics Enterprise will still work in the Strategy 10 Secure Enterprise Platform since this version now uses HTML5 for rendering VI dashboards.
ANSWER
Yes! Your ESRI Maps Key that you configured for Strategy Analytics Enterprise will still work in the Strategy 10 Secure Enterprise Platform. Just like in pre-10 versions, follow the steps in KB45064 to place the ESRI Maps Key in the esriConfig.xml file and set the webmaps default flag to 'true' to take advantage of the integrated cloud-based maps.
