KB30755: "StartUpManager::StartUpManager(): LoadServerDef failed. Return Code: 0x8004119D" error occurs when attempting to start MicroStrategy Intelligence Server

SYMPTOM:
When attempting to start the Strategy Intelligence Server Universal, the following error occurs:
 

The server instance couldn't be initialized. Status: Stopped
Computer Name: <computer name>
Exit Code: -1
Exit Message: StartUpManager::StartUpManager(): LoadServerDef failed.
Return Code: 0x8004119D.

 
Additionally, the following errors occur in the DSSErrors.log:
 

Invalid text stream: unexpected end of stream encountered.
StartUpManager::LoadServerDef(): FindObject of DssTypeServerDef from IDSSSource for DataSourceName = <CastorServer> failed: HResult = -2147216995.
StartUpManager::StartUpManager(): LoadServerDef failed. Return Code: 0x8004119D.
Strategy Intelligence Server shutdown normally
Failed to read from pipe.
System Error (0): Unknown error.

 
 
CAUSE:
A possible cause for this issue is the use of a damaged server definition to start the Strategy Intelligence Server Universal.
 
 
ACTION:
Create a new server definition using the Strategy Configuration Wizard and use this server definition to start the Strategy Intelligence Server Universal. For detailed steps on how to create a new server definition, refer to the following Strategy Knowledge Base document:
