KB319912: Cannot define a default selection through URL API with login credentials added on MicroStrategy Web

Community Admin

• Strategy

If users add project login credentials, the URL cannot define a default selection anymore.

SYMPTOM:
Users can refer to KB39871  to construct URL API to run a RS Document and define a default selection for attribute element selector in Strategy Web. However, if users add project login credentials like &uid=administrator&pwd= into the URL API, the URL cannot define a default selection anymore.
CAUSE:
In Strategy Web, a redirect is triggered as soon as a user logs in. However, with this option enabled, not all the parameters from the URL can be redirected. Users need to disable this redirect option so that all the events in the URL can be used.
ACTION:
Please refer to the following steps to disable redirect on login:

  1. Edit sys_defaults.xml under the path of \<web folder>\WEB-INF\xml\
  2. Change <pr des="" n="redirectOnLogin" scp="system" v="1"/> to <pr des="" n="redirectOnLogin" scp="system" v="0"/>

3. Restart Web server and clear browser cache.
