KB440754: MicroStrategy Enterprise Manager Data Loader cannot be started due to "System Error (ENOENT) --- No such file or directory"

This article explains one of the cause of the error, "System Error (ENOENT) --- No such file or directory," which is shown after clicking a start button of MicroStrategy Service Manager for Enterprise Manager Data Loader and suggests a resolution.

SYMPTOM
Strategy Enterprise Manager Data Loader fails to be started using Strategy Service Manager even though the connection to Enterprise Manager Warehouse was successful. The error message says "System Error (ENOENT) --- No such file or directory."

To find out more about the error, following command is used in Linux:


strace -v -f -s 2048 -o EMService.txt bin/mstrctl -s EMService start

Which will result in an error as shown below:


/opt/Strategy/install/bin/MSTRCtl Error 0xFFFFFFF: Unexpected error occured. 
MExec::ProcessImpl_UNIX::FactoryImp::SpawnProcess: ::execvp() failed for 'bia/opt/Strategy/bin/mstrexec-emservice'. 
System Error (ENOEMT): --- No such file or directory

If the error message returned by the same command is different, refer to:
KB439499: Unable to start Strategy Enterprise Manager Service on Linux with error message: "Error while trying to launch application: Couldn't find the JVM library file"
CAUSE
Strategy Enterprise Manager is not installed on this Linux machine though Service Manager shows "Strategy Enterprise Manager Data Loader" as a service for this Server.
ACTION
Install Strategy Enterprise Manager on the machine where Data Loader service needs to be started. For more information about adding a component to Linux where other Strategy components already installed, refer to:
