SYMPTOM:
Users cannot send subscriptions. DSSError log shows below entries:
data: 530 5.7.1 Client was not authenticated
CAUSE: As mentioned in
KB37152: Error "Email Delivery Failed. Error string from ExecuteMultiProcess Authentication required SMTP Error: 530" appears in DSSErrors.log when delivering email subscriptions via MicroStrategy Distribution Services 9.x this is an expected behavior.
Currently, Strategy Distribution Services does not support to delivery email against SMTP server which requires authentication. An enhancement request has been logged to support this functionality.
ACTION: Contact Strategy Technical Support for an update on the issue.
WORKAROUND: Configure a SMTP Smart Host server in Strategy Distribution Services which does not require authentication to delivery emails.
