This KB article discusses an issue that can be seen on Windows operating systems and that may be due to permissions on a folder that needs to be accessed when installing hotfixes. A solution is provided.

SYMPTOM:
The Strategy 9.x Hotfix installation on a Windows operating system, terminates with the following error:


The setup routine cannot recover from this error:

File name: Z:\InstallMaster\Win64\Hotfix\Hotfix\Script Files\MAProducts.rul
Function name: UseDLL
Line number:29
Elapsed time: 5554ms
Description: The file C:\Users\<user>\APPData\Local\Temp\{9F83394D-E176-4932-9BCB-0BB43B9CC0D7}\{2CFFA6D2-052C-474D-8C4A-F96DC6B310FE}\MAInst.dll failed to load
The setup routine will now terminate.

CAUSE:
A possible cause for this issue is that the user executing the installer does not have Read & Execute access to C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Temp folder.
ACTION:
Check the user permissions on the Temp folder, make sure Read & Execute permissions are granted to the user performs the installation.
