KB439520: How to configure the maximum log file size and creation of backup log files when using MicroStrategy Messaging Services for logging

OVERVIEW
Prior to Strategy Secure Enterprise 10.9, it was not possible to configure a maximum log file size or to configure the creation of backup log files when using Strategy Messaging Services for logging. Starting in Strategy 10.9 it is possible to specify a maximum log file size and specify the number of backup log files to be created for logs generated through Strategy Messaging Services.

STEPS TO CONFIGURE LOG PROPERTIES
The following steps can be used to specify the maximum log file size and the number of backup logs to be created for Strategy Messaging Services

1. Browse to the KafkaConsumer folder in the Strategy installation directory of the machine where Intelligence Server is installed. On Windows the default location is C:\Program Files (x86)\Strategy\Intelligence Server\KafkaConsumer. On Linux the default location is /<MSTR_INSTALL_DIR>/IntelligenceServer/KafkaConsumer.
2. In the KafkaConsumer folder open the  LogConsumer.properties file in a text editor. The "max_file_size_M=" field is used to specify the maximum log file size in megabytes. The "max_num_bak=" field is used to specify the number of backup log files to be created. Users can modify these fields accordingly and then save the LogConsumer.properties file.
3. Restart the Strategy Intelligence Server Log Consumer service in order for changes to take effect. On Windows, this can be done through windows services (services.msc). On Linux it can be done by executing the following command:
