This article helps in cases where an error occurs while running a URL with multiple events.

SYMPTOM:
As described in KB article KB16688: How to execute multiple events using URL API in MicroStrategy Web and Web Universal 9.x, a URL can be constructed to two events in sequence which might be executing a document and setting a specific panel or to login and execute a document. For sample use cases for URL links with multiple events, refer to the following technical notes:

  • KB19552: How to direct export a report and disable the options windows by using the URL API in MicroStrategy Web
  • KB39871: Constructing URL API to run a Report Services document and define a different default selection for an attribute element selector in MicroStrategy Web 9.4.x-10.x
  • KB42551: Constructing URL API to Run a Report Services Document with a Specific Panel selected in MicroStrategy Web 9.4.x
  • KB45218: How to construct the URL API to execute a document with a specific panel set in Express view mode in MicroStrategy Web 9.4.1.x?

In some cases, users may encounter the following error message when running a URL with multiple events:

Unexpected execution status : 16

CAUSE:
This issue is caused by event processing that overlaps and thus creates a conflict during execution.

ACTION:
Add the following parameter to the end of the URL which will force the second event to wait until the first event finishes:

&evtwait=true
