KB39551: "The object shown in the following hierarchy no longer exists in schema: -Relation-TableThe object definition is incomplete or inconsistent" error message appears when updating Schema in 3-tier in MicroStrategy Developer 9.4.1.

This KB article discusses an issue that may occur when updating Schema in MicroStrategy Developer 9.4.x-10.x. A solution is offered.

SYMPTOM:
When trying to update Schema using a 3-tier project source in Strategy Developer 9.4.1 and 10.x after removing a table from Warehouse Catalog, an error message appears:

ka04W000001Iqt8QAC_0EM440000002DIg.png

Error(s) occurred while loading schema: DSSSQLEngine: Schema loading error: [DFCSCHEMA] Population Exception: The object shown in the following hierarchy no longer exists in schema: -Relation-TableThe object definition is incomplete or inconsistent.
Error(s) occurred while loading schema: 0

CAUSE:
One possible cause for this issue is that a relationship table that relates two attributes has been removed from the project, but is still in the "Temporary Tables" subfolder of the "System Objects" folder. When tables are removed from the Warehouse Catalog, they are placed in a temporary folder called "Temporary Tables". After Warehouse Catalog is saved, the temporary tables should be automatically deleted from the metadata. However, this deletion could sometimes fail and result in table objects remaining in the metadata.

ACTION:
Remove the relationship table referenced in the error message from the "Temporary Tables" folder. Contact Strategy Technical Support if you need help to identify the table that has been removed from the project but still defines the relationship between two attributes.
