This article describes enhancements to selectors and analytical engine features in MicroStrategy 9.4.1

New behavior for selectors in Strategy Analytics Enterprise 9.4.1:

  • KB45847 — Attribute element selector (filtering selector) shows the elements in the secondary dataset in MicroStrategy 9.4.x
  • KB47096 — Slicing selector not show elements list when attribute has no relation with the Level Metric’s defined level in 9.4.x
  • KB47097 — Dataset relationship is not considered when generating the element list for slicing selectors when there’s no schema relationship among the selector attributes in MicroStrategy 9.4.x
  • KB47098 — When the source attribute of a parent selector is not in the target, the selector has an empty element list or has no control over the child selector on 9.4.x
  • KB47099 — The child selector is not controlled by the parent Selector in MicroStrategy 9.4.1 when the child selector targets a panel that that has dynamic text

Enhanced Analytical Engine features in Strategy Analytics Enterprise 9.4.1:

  • KB45417 — Support for derived elements defined on the same attribute in both the dataset and view filter in MicroStrategy Analytics Enterprise 9.4.1
  • KB45424 — Element Browsing and View Filter behavior for reports based of Intelligent Cubes in MicroStrategy Analytics Enterprise 9.4.1 and newer releases
  • KB45436 — If datasets contain a direct-loading cube with report filter, then the attribute-only grid will get different result in MicroStrategy Analytics Enterprise 9.4.1
  • KB45438 — Ignore the derived element in the base when there are derived elements defined on the same unit in both base and view templates in MicroStrategy Analytics Enterprise 9.4.1
  • KB45471 — How does the MicroStrategy Analytics Enterprise 9.4.1 Engine determine the dataset to use for a metric in a grid when multiple datasets are used in a Report Service Document
  • KB45494 — How does the MicroStrategy Engine determine the correct grid template attribute to apply a view filter condition on if the attribute does not appear in the grid in MicroStrategy Analytics Enterprise 9.4.1
  • KB45498 — In MicroStrategy Analytics Enterprise 9.4.x when a dataset has a derived element and the document grid has a metric view filter, both leaf elements and branch elements are qualified
  • KB45569 — Security filter application in documents using Intelligent Cubes as datasets in MicroStrategy Analytics Enterprise 9.4.1
  • KB45555 — In MicroStrategy Analytics Enterprise 9.4.1, how is data from multiple datasets combined for grids which do not have any metrics?
  • KB45517 — Why are some metric values blank in documents using multiple datasets in MicroStrategy Analytics Enterprise 9.4.1
  • KB45462 — What is the impact of changing the 'Join Behavior' for a dataset in a Report Services Document or Dashboard containing multiple datasets in MicroStrategy Analytics Enterprise 9.4.1 and newer releases
  • KB45463 — Engine behavior for grids on a Report Services Document or dashboard with multiple datasets where some attribute forms are missing or have different values the datasets in MicroStrategy Analytics Enterprise 9.4.1 and newer
  • KB45573 — In MicroStrategy Analytics Enterprise 9.4.x the behavior may be inconsistent when running a document based on an extended data access (XDA) report in a different locale
  • KB45723 — Attribute in grid cannot be mapped as transaction input object in transaction configuration when other grid datasets have derived elements defined on the same attribute in MicroStrategy Analytics Enterprise 9.4.1
  • KB45722 — How an aggregate from base/subtotal of a base metric is defined on document in MicroStrategy Analytics Enterprise 9.4.1
  • KB45721 — Functions with parameter UseLookupForAttributes are supported when used in the aggregate from base/subtotal of the base metric in MicroStrategy Analytics Enterprise 9.4.1
  • KB45461 — Metric values are missing for a grid or graph if  aggregation is performed over an attribute containing multiple rows with NULL values after joining multiple datasets in a Report Services document in MicroStrategy Analytics Enterprise 9.4.1
